Doug, chances are, it uses a 686.  However, a good way to find out is boot
the GENERIC kernel, and look for a line like:

CPU: Pentium III/Pentium III Xeon/Celeron (498.85-MHz 686-class CPU)

The above is for a 686 CPU.
