            Bug ID: 279414
Summary: PROPOSAL: solution for lack of resources to build all
                    packages
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: vermaden@interia.pl

Hi,

as we know the FreeBSD infrastructure wears 'thin' and there is for example=
 not
enough 'horsepower' to rebuild all 'electron*' (or other heavy) packages for
both 'latest' and 'quarterly' packages branches.

I would propose something that could solve that.

Right now 'latest' packages are rebuild about once a week.
Right now 'quarterly' packages are rebuild about once a quarter.

New proposal:

Introduce new 'biweekly' target and drop 'quarterly'.

Keep just one 'tree' of packages and link both 'latest' and 'quarterly' to =
it.

If 'biweekly' (every 14 days) is too short windows - it can also be 'every =
20
days'.

Just an idea ...

Regards,
vermaden
