Can anyone enlighten me about my Creative Webcam II paralell port cam please? myprompt$ dmesg -a | grep ppbus0 ppbus0: IEEE1284 device found /PS2/ECP/EPP Probing for PnP devices on ppbus0: ppbus0: <VLSI Vision Ltd PPC2 Camera> MEDIA CPIA_1-20 plip0: <PLIP network interface> on ppbus0 lpt0: <Printer> on ppbus0 ppi0: <Parallel I/O> on ppbus0 How do I test if it is working? How can I find software to make use of my cam (even at least for video captures to a paint program for example)? Searches for "ppbus0" and "webcam" at freebsd.org were severely limited. A search for [Microsoft's videoconferencing app] "netmeeting" turned up a promising port called "gnomemeeting" (wish it were kdemeeting hee hee) but a pkg_add -r for that failed to find it, and regardless, can apps written for gnome work on KDE? I haven't tried that yet. Thanks someone. PS: I just pkg_add'ed something called "cphone" but there are no docs. -- Peter Leftwich President & Founder Video2Video Services Box 13692, La Jolla, CA, 92039 USA +1-413-403-9555 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
