I have used FreeBSD before on a computer and i liked it. But i deletet FreeBSD cause i needed space to run my win applications. But then for some weeks ago i was installing it again and something weird happened. The version is FreeBSD 2.2.5 And i will tell you exactly how i did and in what steps. 1: I booted up FreeBSD from my CDrom and made all the selections. 2: At the install meny i choosed "novice installation" 3: When everything was finished, it started to install FreeBSD and it came up like "packing up port libs" something like that i think you know where in the installation iam now :) Well after about 30 seconds the computer locked. So i rebootet but nothing happened. Well the processor was damaged, i thought it was a coincidence. So i changed to an old Cpu wich was the one i ran FreeBSD on for awhile ago. Everything worked perfect until i got to almost the same spot. Then it locked the computer and also that Cpu was damaged. I thought it was just a coincidence again... But i left my computer at a computer store here where i live. And they told me that both my Cpu's was damaged :( So i told them to try to install FreeBSD with one of their Cpu's cause i thought that FreeBSD had something to do with destroying my Cpus. Well belive it or not the same thing happend to them to!! So now are 3 cpus destroyed and thats not a coincidence! What is wrong do you have any clue ? The motherbord is an Abit AP5T "7 months old" and the Cpus was 2:AMD K6 350 "1 new, second 7months old" and 1:AMD K6 233 "1,5 years old". None was overclocked! And i had a hughe cooler on them. When i ran FreeBSD for some year ago i had not the same motherboard. It was an ABIT but not the same. I hope you can help me so i somehow can get new Cpus. But the guy at the store told me that the motherboard company wouldnt replace them cause the motherboard company isnt supporting FreeBSD. Its supporting Windows and novell applications.... :( Sorry for my bad English.
