[-- Attachment #1 --] Hello. I've successfully created the boot diskette, and tried installing FreeBSD. The lines below are the results after configuring the kernel: avail memory = 831488 (812K bytes) Probling for devices on the ISA bus: sc0 at 0x60-0x6f irq 1 on motherboard sc0: VGA color <4 virtual consoles, flags = 0x0> sio0 at 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 on isa sio0: type 16450 sio1 at 0x2f8-0x2ff irq 3 on isa sio1: type 16450 lpt0 at 0x378-0x37f irq 7 on isa lpt0: interrupt-driven port lp0: TCP/IP-capable interface mse0 not found at 0x23c fdc0 at 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on ISA fd0: 1.44MB 3.5in wdc0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 14 on isa wdc0: unit 0 (wd0): <WDC AC280> wd0: 81 MB (1666600 sectors, 980 cyls, 10 hds, 17 S/T, 512 B/S) wdc1 at 0x170-0x177 irq 15 on isa wdc1: unit 0 (atapi): <CDROM CDU76E/10.h>, removeable, accel, dma, iordy npx0 flags 0x1 on motherboard npx0: 387 emulator rootfs is 1440 Kbyte complied in MFS /stand/sysinstall running as init on vty0 After this last line comes on the screen, the machine beeps and freezes (I've left the box sitting for over 30 mins, and nothing else is displayed on the screen, hard drives not accessed, etc.) Why would the machine choose this point to lock up? Aparently there are no more conflicts (have gone thru UserConfig and have eliminated conflicts), and yet after the port scans it freezes. Other things you should know is that the CDROM is a Sony ATAPI 4x drive, the processor is a 80386 w/emu, and a 2-button MS-compat mouse. Thank you for your time, and hopefully you will be able to help me out with my problem. --- Les Eleniak <watchman@telusplanet.net> [-- Attachment #2 --] <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD W3 HTML//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <META content=text/html;charset=iso-8859-1 http-equiv=Content-Type> <META content='"MSHTML 4.72.2106.6"' name=GENERATOR> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>Hello.
