It seems the kernel is too old.

It looks weird. The kernel version should be 12.4-STABLE if you compile src
code from stable/12 branch and install the kernel.

Is your stable/12 branch up to date ?

PS: While we say try something on stable / current, it implicitly means we
should try latest stable / current, unless with explicit git revision.
