I suppose that I haven't appropriate codecs for it. Could > someone point me which codecs I should install to see my movies? Is it MOV? Anyway, do you have mplayer installed? It comes with a wide set of codecs; usually, it can play any movie you can find. Later you'll find mplayer/mencoder very useful, if you're going to deal with home videos. > 2. How to run digikam as normal user to download my photos or movies > from camera? This question is not about running a digicam as a regular user; this is about mounting your camera as a regular user. Search the archive; there are a lot of examples and brief HOW-TOs. By the way, is your camera listed among supported devices in libgphoto2? My camera (Olympus Stylus800) is not supported yet. But as long as I can mount it and download all the pics/movies, I don't mind. HTH, Andriy
