[snip] Make sure your cooling and power supply are AMD approved, and use major-brand RAM -- I've personally never had any problems with Crucial/Micron RAM. =09Scott _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I like Crucial myself - which brings up a point re DDR RAM. DDR is less expensive than RDRAM. DDR is mainly identified with AMD chips, though there are Intel DDR motherboards available. I've owned a couple of AMD CPUs with DDR RAM motherboards and have been quite happy with them. If you want to use more than one CPU, my impression from reading (I have no experience nor expertise in this area, so take this for what little it's worth) is that AMD's support is at an earlier stage than is Intel's. It's also my impression (with the same disclaimer) that improved multi-CPU performance and stability is a goal of the FreeBSD project for the 5.x (-CURRENT) version.
