Unable to swap to /dev/sd0s1b: Device not configured" next, it can't create the root partition; Switching to the alternate console it says, among other things: newfs: /dev/rsd0a: 'a' partition is unavailable After printing a number of statements relating to MakeDev. This after first having created a 5 mb dos partition with dos fdisk which I think is still needed to give the FreeBSD install some geometry info. The dos partition appears to be read/writeable. Any help here is greatly appreciated. regards kim -- kimc@w8hd.org
