I'm not sure which card you want to diagnose.  The Dell PE800 has an  
onboard bge ethernet which was apparently not working at full speed,  
or was stalling otherwise.

The 3c905 is what I used to be able to turn off the bge NIC.  It  
appears to be functioning well.
