In the meanwhile, fetchmail has seen further releases that contain
important bugfixes, so it should be upgraded to at least 5.8.10,
rendering a request to update to 5.8.7 obsolete. Upgrading to 5.8.10
will also fix a security bug (fetchmail no longer trusts the message
count provided by the server), fix an infinite loop bug in SSL mode,
some build fixes, IDLE timeout fixes, and add STLS and ESMTP AUTH.

At this time, I cannot currently use my FreeBSD box, so I cannot
currently provide a patch for the port's Makefile, sorry. Unless someone
else does it, I'll provide a port patch once my FreeBSD box is back
online.
