Fetch is referring that the install is trying to ftp to the outside for the files. Do you have a firewall or filtering device protecting your system ??? If so, you may have to open it up. Otherwise, try the Full ISO disk-1 image. Its has pretty much everything you need. -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-current@freebsd.org [mailto:owner-freebsd-current@freebsd.org]On Behalf Of Sven Hazejager Sent: Friday, April 11, 2003 6:03 AM To: freebsd-current@freebsd.org Subject: FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE install failure Hi, I'm trying to install FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE from a CD that was burned using the miniinst.iso file. Installation seems to run fine, but after installing the base files, it bombs out with the error "Unable to fetch packages/INDEX" or something, afterwards the installation is aborting completely! How do I circumvent this annoying error? I don't need the packages!
