This does build on alpha and should work for some cards. Cards with known
problems include 3dlabs and I think some s3 cards. Since the Linux alpha
folks are getting the same problems, I expect a later patch to XFree86 4.0
will address these.

In the mean time, it works great on Matrox hardware - I'm typing this on
an alpha box running XFree86 4.0 with an MGA.
