It came with a 2db antenna which I'm looking to bump up a bit as I'm getting a poor signal from where I live to some nearby (i think) AP's. Mostly my laptop sits on a table near a window with the antenna living just outside on the ledge. At the moment, I have a 2db onmi with a magnetic base (came with the card), but I'm considering getting something a bit bigger to extend the range. I want to get one of these a NET-WL-ANT008OSC from them. http://www.solwise.co.uk/wireless-indoorantenna.htm http://www.solwise.co.uk/wireless-indoor-antenna-specs.htm#OMNIANT8DB I've read somewhere that these might not be RF grounded though and I need a large metal plate such as a car roof to make them work ok. This would obviously not work then as I'm going to have it sitting on a ledge. Does anybody have any experience with these?
