I now experience a panic upon the first boot after a cold start. After the panic, the machine reboots, and manages to come up successfully (after fsck). It then works fine. The cold boot panic is reliably reproducible. It happens right near the end of the boot process, during the execution of kldload. The hardware is a Compaq 1700 laptop, P3 750MHz with a Cisco aironet pccard and ESS Allegro on-board sound chip. The pcm0 and an0 drivers are both loaded by kldload. If anyone wants more details please mail me. regards Gram To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
