I can see a lot of 386 boxes coming back to service as > dedicated ISDN routers in the next few years.. :-) I've been using 386's for a long time as a "dedicated application" platform... they make great routers, terminal servers, etc. etc. Maybe this works better for me because I believe in functional separation, and generally don't have a box doing lots of diverse chores. It definitely makes individual system upgrades much easier to contemplate.
