Hi all, I'm having this annoying warning every now and then, $ dmesg | grep ^xl (snip) ... xl0: watchdog timeout xl0: link state changed to DOWN xl0: link state changed to UP (snip) ... What pciconf says is: $ pciconf -v -l xl0@pci0:2:5:0: class=0x020000 card=0x100010b7 chip=0x920010b7 rev=0x74 hdr=0x00 vendor = '3COM Corp, Networking Division' device = '3C905 CX-TX-M Fast EtherLink for PC Management NIC' class = network subclass = ethernet xl1@pci0:2:6:0: class=0x020000 card=0x100010b7 chip=0x920010b7 rev=0x74 hdr=0x00 vendor = '3COM Corp, Networking Division' device = '3C905 CX-TX-M Fast EtherLink for PC Management NIC' class = network subclass = ethernet dmesg also shows xl1: <3Com 3c905C-TX Fast Etherlink XL> port 0xd000-0xd07f mem 0xfea40000-0xfea4007f irq 21 at device 6.0 on pci2 xlphy1: <3c905C 10/100 internal PHY> PHY 24 on miibus1 xlphy1: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto I'm running FreeBSD 7.1-PRERELEASE #2: Mon Oct 20 11:46:22 PYST 2008. My kernel configuration is in basically GENERIC, but I added the ALTQ thingy, that enables queuing capability with PF. Also, the "watchdog timeout" message first appeared running GENERIC, right away after I ended installing 7.0. I've updated kernel and world every 2-3 days since then, in the hope it will get fixed in RELENG_7 at some point in time ;) Hey.. its a 3Com! (cheap one, but 3Com at least).. should I replace the NICs for another brand/model? Any advice or suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
