Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Date: Tue, 04 Jul 2000 21:47:13 -0400 From: Robert Withrow Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I can't get the isc-dhclient 2.0.2 client to fetch an address. The symptoms are: Client sends DHCPDISCOVER, Server receives the DHCPDISCOVER, Server sends a DHCPOFFER, Client never receives the DHCPOFFER. This is a Gateway Solo 9100 laptop, running 4.0 Release, and the problem happens with the default dhclient as well as the version from the latest port. The ethernet port is a Netgear FA410TX, using the ed driver. Bpf *is* configured. This system gets its address without problems using Win98 (it's dual-booted). I've tried the suggestion from the DHCP book of adding a host route to 255.255.255.255 to no avail. Any help gladly appreciated! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert Withrow, R.W.
