The bootloader installs and works fine, however I can't get rid of it now. I've got 2 UDMA66 drives setup as primary master/slave. Nothing appears to work to get rid of the boot loader. Here's what I've tried so far: I've booted with a dos disk, run fdisk /mbr, rebooted, fbsd boot loader still comes up. I've fired up a hex editor, and messed around with the mbr, fbsd boot loader still comes up. I've gone into fdisk and wiped all partitions on both drives, rebooted, fbsd boot loader comes up but can't load anything (obviously). I've now just tried changing the disk geom in the bios, fbsd boot loader still comes up. I've tried re-installing fbsd 4.1-R to consume both drives, re-install teh boot loader, and it sees the new installation, but when it goes to boot it gets "boot error". Run fdisk /mbr again, no luck, boot loader is still there. I've swapped drive positions, run fdisk /mbr, boot loader still is there. I've tried installing lilo, win2k, and winme just to see if anything will blow out the mbr at this point. Everytime, the fbsd boot loader returns. I give up. Wtf do I have to do to get rid of the thing? fwiw, in the hex editor, I see the other copy of the mbr, but can't move it to the first position because of some error when attempting to do so. Any help is really appreciated. -- | Andy | e-mail | web | | | andy@lewman.com | www.lewman.com | You will be surprised by a loud noise.
