I _did_ try with 2.2-BETA (the latest version that you posted the MD5
checksum for tonight).  I also reproduced it using COM2.  Check it out
again.  This could be a big negative publicity if not fixed since I'd
guess 99% of PC owners have a mouse on COM1 and their modem on something
other.  You don't need to actually start a PPP, just type "show modem" at
the PPP prompt, and verify that it always shows "device: cuaa0" to
reproduce the bug.
