I decided to just get the two disks for 3.2-RELEASE and go to it. The beginning of the install goes pretty well, but when it comes to downloading the various packages (/bin or what-have-you), it gets really rather annoying. /bin for example is split into 106 chunks and I can't for the life of me figure out how to avoid having to tell the sysinstall which server to login to in order to download that chunk. 106 times of pressing enter twice wasn't fun. But I did it. And then when the DOC package came up, I decided that I'd had enough (after realising how many packages I'd selected to install by FTP). So I pressed 'C' for cancel (or "Canada", didn't really matter to me at that point) while it waited for the 109th time for me to say what server to use. At that point, the install died citing a fatal error (which I still haven't written down, but have reproduced three times) and reboots, after which the hard drive is left in a crap state, and I have to re-partition/re-format the hard drive before it's usable again (which I've been doing from the install). So, my questions are these: 1) How do I install from FTP without having to tell it to re-login 106 times for BIN alone? and 2) Is the crash after pressing 'C' at the point that the install is asking which server to log into a known bug? How do I find out? And where do I submit it if it isn't? Thanks in advance for any help, Kevin.
