Hi, Many monitors appear to be in power-save mode when in fact they have shut down because they can't display a particular mode. Instead of pressing ctrl-alt-del try switching the monitor off for a minute or so, and then see if the display comes back when you switch it on again. Are you using the exact same version of XFree86 under SuSE? Oh, and please use shorter lines ;) John.
