Have you ever tried with a binary distribution
(shujit-*-bin-freebsd.tar.gz)?
Which C compiler did you use to compile shuJIT? gcc 2.7? egcs?
If you used gcc 2.7, did you see and edit `CC_VER =' line in def.mk?

I've only confirmed work of shuJIT which compiled by gcc 2.7.2.1.
