Weird, because I remember installing from ports=20 ::> /usr/ports/net/samba and smbd -V yielded 2.2.11 (something), not=20 ::> 2.2.8....!? So, I rm -rf 'd my /usr/ports and downloaded a new=20 ::> tarball, tar zxvf 'd it back into /usr, and voila!....
