Message-Id: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-questions@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Hello yet again; After much assistance in getting ppp -auto mode to work, ( well, ya know, it seems to be a complete mystery actually, it works a bit for a while and then it does not... anyway,, ) ppp seems to like to dial the phone out again and again! This is pretty traumatic for my wife, she hates the fact that the computer eats the phone line.. i tell her we need another phone line but she wont bite, anyway... I thought i had saved the message that somebody posted about a problem with ppp and the port of tcsh in ports. The fix was to recompile tcsh with some flag enabled ( or what, i am working from memory, and this was last fall.. ) if anybody knows how to fix this, plz let me know.. my wife dials out to check her email and then she cant figure out to how to kill ppp so she *shuts* *off* *the* *power* *!!!* ( oh boy, i really hate that... especially since i have no monitor and keyboard on this box ) tnx! ******************************************************************************* John Utz spaz@u.washington.edu idiocy is the impulse function in the convolution of life
