Meaning it don't. Repeated it on three distinct boxes, on some boxes many times. It *is* repeatable. See also the discussion I started when I first noticed this problem on the stable list. Thread title is "4.6 kernel build failure". When it surfices which it has not done yet. I also just got an email from Dewayne Geraghty which seconds me, attached. Roelof PS if you need more data, just holler. Got several MBs worth of script logs . -- _______________________________________________________________________ eBOAź est. 1982 http://eBOA.com/ tel. +31-58-2123014 mailto:info@eBOA.com?subject=Information_request fax. +31-58-2160293 --------------060801000800070408060201 Content-Type: message/rfc822; name="imap-message://roelof@forseti/INBOX#20303" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="imap-message://roelof@forseti/INBOX#20303" Return-Path: Delivered-To: roelof@frl.nisser.com Received: from zcamail04.zca.compaq.com (zcamail04.zca.compaq.com [161.114.32.104]) by frl.nisser.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 25561EA94 for ; Thu, 11 Jul 2002 04:18:04 +0200 (CEST) Received: from sgpexg11.asiapacific.cpqcorp.net (sgpexg11.asiapacific.cpqcorp.net [16.158.249.63]) by zcamail04.zca.compaq.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9E2B41807 for ; Wed, 10 Jul 2002 19:22:46 -0700 (PDT) Received: from sgpexb11.asiapacific.cpqcorp.net ([16.158.249.64]) by sgpexg11.asiapacific.cpqcorp.net with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.2966); Thu, 11 Jul 2002 10:17:52 +0800 Received: from snoexb21.asiapacific.cpqcorp.net ([16.176.6.253]) by sgpexb11.asiapacific.cpqcorp.net with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.2966); Thu, 11 Jul 2002 10:17:52 +0800 Received: from SNOEXC01.asiapacific.cpqcorp.net ([16.176.6.251]) by snoexb21.asiapacific.cpqcorp.net with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.2966); Thu, 11 Jul 2002 12:17:50 +1000 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft Exchange V6.0.5762.3 content-class: urn:content-classes:message MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Subject: RE: Joke, right? Hi All, First and foremost thanks to all who lend a helping hand. Allways very = much appreciated. And of course the FreeBSD team! I guess I found out what lay at the heart of my trouble. After returning = to the office from my leisurely drive, which btw had the exact same problem, = and having enjoyed a good meal and stuff, I toyed around a bit. Since it was very weird that everybody but me reported successes... = First I went to to the /usr/src/sys/modules/linux dir to test a make. That = worked. OK, one down, one to go. Sure I could now probably build the d'd thing, = but... I had this webpage on screen showing both procedures to build a kernel. = The traditional way which I use and the "new" way, which I've only used once = if at that. So... picked a box other than the one above and made buildkernel the = new-fangled way. Guess what? Yep: donar:/usr/src# make buildkernel KERNCONF=3DNISSER ... -------------------------------------------------------------- >>> Kernel build for NISSER completed on Wed Jul 10 23:09:12 CEST 2002 -------------------------------------------------------------- So there you have it. A bug, send-pr performed.
