 I helped Gary Kline, the port maintainer, debug this port when he
 submitted this. I didn't have this problem.  I just went and pkg_deleted
 it, cd /usr/ports/misc/cbb and did a make install.  I find no control
 characters and the script runs fine.  I'm using 2.2-STABLE, last make
 world was mid-February.
