Recently, I compiled the new version of qpopper (2.4). I am having quite
a few problems with the following items:

1. temp lock files not being created with new users,
2. if a user loses his/her connection in the middle of downloading mail,
the lock file does NOT get reset,
3. I am getting endless reports like the following in my
/var/log/messages files:

su-2.01# tail /var/log/messages

What does the host name problem mean?
