I can add another datapoint to the picture. The wi0: timeout messages (also accompanied by wi0: busy bit won't clear) appear only in my garden and not in my living room (In the latter I have better wlan quality - 11Mb/s while outside it depends and sometimes it is only 2Mb/s.
