Ahh, okay. So I should cvsup again, then. Not a problem. Thanks! > I don't know what "SMOR" is, so I can't help you here, sorry. SMOR is Storage Manager On ROM, and I found out later that I can get it, but only if I wait until *after* the devices have been detected, and then typing "^D" within the second or so that it waits before it releases the boot process and allows it to continue. In fact, I've actually got the machine finally booted now -- it turns out I had to attach the internal Quantum SCSI drive to the DPT SmartRAID V card when using FreeBSD, just like I had to for Linux. No other combination of the internal AIC-7890 controller and the DPT SmartRAID V seems to work. I'm guessing that's some sort of hardware issue. I'll go ahead and cvsup this machine again, and will then try rebuilding a new working kernel from that. If it doesn't work, I can always go back to the kernel I've got now. ;-) Thanks again! -- These are my opinions -- not to be taken as official Skynet policy ====================================================================== Brad Knowles, <blk@skynet.be> || Belgacom Skynet SA/NV Systems Architect, Mail/News/FTP/Proxy Admin || Rue Colonel Bourg, 124 Phone/Fax: +32-2-706.13.11/12.49 || B-1140 Brussels http://www.skynet.be || Belgium "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania.
