I found that when I tried to make vpopmail from ports *before* building qmail, that it failed when trying to create some qmail-related users. Can't remember the command it was trying to use, maybe "pw" with which I'm unfamiliar. My workaround was to build qmail (from ports) first, then making vpopmail went smoothly.
