Thanks, that worked. Guess I am out of luck for USB support in apcupsd since it is linux-centric. Have to wait for the serial cable from APC. ETIME is a linux-ism(*). Seen how it is further used in the code (quick grep on it), I think you can safely replace it with ETIMEDOUT.
