Hi all! Is anybody using one of the free Unix AppleTalk packages, CAP or NetATalk, on FreeBSD _without_ additional routing hardware? As far as I can comprehend from different FAQ's and postings, NetATalk is not YET available for FreeBSD, but people are working on it. As of CAP, it seems to be up and running for some people, but is not free from problems AND (this is the bad part:) requires a hardware(?) router (i.e. GatorBox etc...) to pack the EtherTalk packets into TCP/IP packets, or else it only runs the old "chatty" EtherTalk phase I. Am I right? (Hope not!!!) If I am right: * Is there a problem (apart from descreased bandwidth) using EtherTalk phase I? * Is anybody using an NFS-client for the Mac to connect to FreeBSD? Which client softwares are good and which ones aren't? Regards, Palle Girgensohn, girgen@e.kth.se Palle Girgensohn girgen@e.kth.se
