They should go through this time. "boot-v.txt" is from 5.2.1 Release, "boot-v fail end.txt" is copied from the end of a failing -current kernel, and "uname-a.txt" is from uname-a on the 5.2.1 kernel. I installed 5.2.1 release from aburned CD installed cvsup and did a make buildworld, make buildkernel, make install kernel then rebooted. The boot process appears to hang right before mounting / although the keyboard num lock and scroll lock keys work and I can scroll the the boot message history. I can still boot by loading the 5.2.1 kernel manually at the boot prompt. I do get "unretryable errors" right before it hangs I have copied them by hand into the boot -v fail end attachment. > > I am still fairly new to FreeBSD (I suppose I could be considered a > > "newbie") but I have some basic programming and scripting > background > > from Windows and web page projects, kernel stuff is way beyond me > right > > now.
