Whenever I boot up, and try to use my modem it does not work, I have
been told this is because it is a PnP modem, I also have the same
problem with my network card. My modem is on COM 2 in windows, IRQ: 03,
I/O 02F8h-02FFh. I have been able to boot up my box with the boot -c
option and type this at the prompt:
pnp 2 0 enable os irq0 3 port0 0x3f8. I gave my boot record to someone
and they told me it looked like the modem was working, I still havent
been able to send it commands when I go to it with term, and when I use
KPPP it just locks up KPPP and also locks the modem from further use.
My modem is a U.S. Robotics 33.6 FAX INT PnP, and my Network card is an
Intel EtherExpress PRO/10+ PnP. IRQ: 05, I/O: 0230h-023Fh. I have
included in this file a copy of my kernel, and two boot records. The
dmesg.with is the record from when I booted using the -c command. The
boot record from dmesg.without is when I just let it boot up naturally.
Please let me know how to fix this.
Thank You
Chuck Pearce
