I suspect many of these people read the line Use the leasing extensions to the NFS Version 3 protocol to main- tain cache consistency. and decided that NQNFS was a useful extension to NFSv3 when in fact it is a different protocol that is based on v2. I think NQNFS might offer a stronger cache coherency than is provided by NFSv3 - I'm not sure of the details, but I guess it's possible that people are also using it for this reason.
