I have been setting up EFI freebsd 10.1RC on my MacBookPro. efifb worked on the radeon card, but displays a black screen on the i915 at boot. I have triggered the swap to i915 before boot. When you run startX the screen appears to display at 640x480, with only red and white. xrandr reports the resolution as 1680x1050 (Native). I can provide a screen shot of this at request. I would love to get this working, and am happy to test, or give more info as needed. I have completed the upgrade to 10.4 and that has not changed the issue.
