I started blocking everything not from *.com, .net, .gov, .org, and .jp. It has GREATLY reduced my spam level. Then I blocked everything from hotmail, yahoo, msn, and the likes. I added only the people I know with valid accounts to my whitelists. Score another HUGE reduction in spam.
