There may be more > important things to optimize :-). Hmm. Sounds like I should do some work more on the IPI TLB shootdown stuff to finish it off. That speeds up a test kernel compile (compiling entirely from memory) by 2% to 2.5%. on one of my SMP boxes. I expect it to be a bit better when the kernel has to do page stealing.
