I installed what I believe to be XFree86 3.3.3.1 but several packages (Mesa-3_0 for example) tell me that they can't find it. Therefore, I am trying to do the upgrade. The 3.3.3-3.3.3.1.diff contains the following:

<This patch should be applied to an un-modified XFree86 version 3.3.3

<source tree. It will convert the source tree to XFree86 version 3.3.3.1.

<To apply this patch, run the following from the directory containing your

<'xc' directory:

<patch -p -E < 3.3.3-3.3.3.1.diff

what is meant by my 'xc' directory. I can't find it anywhere and when I run the patch from anywhere else, it asks me for the name of the file to patch.

I would greatly appreciate any tips.

Thanks,

Kirk Noonan
