I have two PCMCIA Ethernet adapter, Xircom 10/100 CardBus & Surecom EP-427X. This is my first time install PCMCIA card into Netebook running FreeBSD. I found that the CardBus will not work on FreeBSD 4.6-RELEASE, so I give it up. Is that correct? Now...trying to install the Surecom EP-427X I found it's entry on /etc/defautls/pccard.conf : # Surecome EP-427X PCMCIA ethernet card "CouplerlessPCMCIA" "100BASE" config auto "ed" ? 0x30000 insert /etc/pccard_ether $device start remove /etc/pccard_ether $device stop and found the driver on GENERIC : [...] # ISA Ethernet NICs. # 'device ed' requires 'device miibus' device ed0 at isa? port 0x280 irq 10 iomem 0xd8000 device ex device ep [...] The problem is : When the Card inserted, the system found the database and load the driver. But when it finished....the system HALT / HANG. If it removed...the system running again. What should I do next? Or is there another STEPS to follow regarding this installation. Thanks.
