Not all. There are two reasons:
1) Kernel modifications and/or updated packages in the distribution will
affect some ports.
2) 2.2.x and upper use a modified gcc-2.7.2.1.
3) The port subsystem has evolved.
Look is www.freebsd.org/ports how to update your ports subsystem (a
small package that Satoshi made available) and you may get out of issue
no. 3.
