https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=291426 --- Comment #6 from Adam Weinberger <adamw@FreeBSD.org> --- (In reply to Vladimir Druzenko from comment #5) Maintainers are absolutely welcome to set USES=go:1.24 and then update it when 1.26 comes out, but I don't see it as our responsibility to test and update each port to account for it. If others want to provide that service, I am in full support! But I see our role as saying, "Hey, your port depends on a Go version that is being deleted on xyz date, and here's what to do about it." Maintainers that cannot follow through with that should let someone know so we can help them out. But I would much rather see maintenance done by maintainers. Again, please by all means provide the level of support you see fit! I'm behind you and will support you all the way. But at this point I'm inclined make it clear when a Go version is going away and leave it up to each maintainer to choose how they address it. What I absolutely don't want is for us to maintain a museum of old, unsupported Go versions like we have been. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
