Absolutely not; it helps to be somewhat familiar with PCs (what's a HD partition, what's an IRQ, etc). In fact, you can use this OS to learn how to program -- the programming tools you might pay $$$ for under Micro$oft, you can get for free (or price of the CD) under FreeBSD.
