According to the ifmedia manpage from NetBSD (the birthplace of ifmedia): IFM_HDX Place the device into half-duplex mode. This option on=AD ly has meaning if the device is normally not half-du=AD plex. [half-duplex, hdx] Since classical ethernet is half duplex, it is correct that this is not a supported option.
