There is a 1024-cylinder limitation, which gives a 1G limitation when certain excessively limited defaults are used for the number of heads and sectors/track. Other excessively limited defaults give other limitations on the drive size. A 504MB used to be normal for IDE drives. There is an 8032.5MB limitation ... Bruce
