Oh.  OK, sorry.  Your goals sound just fine.  Are you thinking about 
another gui?  Which are your candidates?

I'm not sure I like it, but fresco seems to be the only free one out 
there -- or is it really free?  Anyhow, qt wouldn't qualify (too bad!)
