Your log doesn't include chat-related parts, since you have a slightly different default setup in ppp.conf that the stock file. Your version lacks the following line in the ``default:'' part: set log Phase Chat LCP IPCP CCP tun command Add this line, and try dialing again. Then chat-related errors should become visible in the /var/log/ppp.log file. Sorry for being rather terse in my original reply. Giorgos.
