I have tried two different NIC's and that was not it. Sometimes a simple ping (from or to) brings it down. I don't quite trust the hardware (it's a pre-release board), but I've never had problems with it until I put it on the LAN. Hard to diagnose the real issue if the thing just freezes, so I've disconnected it from the LAN until I get a change to at least change the motherboard. Of course your case may be totally different... ;-) Michael -----Original Message----- From: kiril@ideaglobal.com [mailto:kiril@ideaglobal.com] Sent: Thursday, July 15, 1999 4:47 PM To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Cc: kiril@ideaglobal.com Subject: freezeng, frozing, dead Dear All i've a 3,2-RELEASE box that is freezing dead solid on me every so often. apart from checking the fans (OK) , disabling the console screen saver, sticking DDB and DDB_UNATTENDED in the kernel config & hoping that the k/b will work, is anything i should do in the first instance ?
