I installed FreeBSD version 2.2.7 about 3 days ago on my 2.1gb hdd. All was well, until I decided I wanted X windows. So, I plop in my CheapBytes cd and head to the "Configure" section of the install program and select 9 ("Distributions"). I scroll down to XFree86 and select all the XFree86 distribution sets. Then, I head back out, select my media type (cd-rom), and the installation process starts. But what's this... "Write error on transfer to cpio process, try of 1024 bytes.". Also, at the bottom appears "/: write failed, file system is full". I know it can't be full and quit the installation, then issue the "df" command after logging in and find out that "/" has 48% capacity, "/usr" has 10% capacity, and "/var" has 4%. So, my question is, why isn't it letting me install ANYTHING from the "Distributions" section of my cd and how can I remedy this problem?
